I am Eve Lee, the Secretary of the Student Dietetics Association at UC Berkeley. Aside from being involved in SDA, I am also a long-time volunteer/cashier and the Real Food Advocacy (RFA) Intern (for school year 2013-2014) at the Berkeley Student Food Collective (BSFC!), and a Peer Advising Leader (PAL) at the College of Natural Resources. My main role as the RFA Intern to bring forth the Real Food Challenge–local, ecologically-friendly/organic, humane and fairly-traded food–into our UC Berkeley community. My office hours at CNR are Mondays 2-4PM, so if you have any Nutritional Science major questions (or just about courses in general) or just want to rant about life, stop by 260 Mulford!
I come from Taiwan, but have lived in New Zealand when I was young. I love food, nutrition, baking and really, anything food related. I am also a fan of Youtube Recipe Channels, such as Chef John’s funny FoodWishes and Ann Reardon’s amazing dessert videos (she is also an RD in Australia!). Ask me about food, especially chocolate, and I’ll be hyper.
I love Food Science, and am loving all my NST classes for junior year. I hope to become a resource and newsbringer (as the “Webmaster” of this WordPress blog) to all NS students and reach out to more people!
I’d just like to end with something that I think is important as you go through your college career:
Don’t get discouraged if what you’re doing is not the “right” or “proper” path. Just follow your passion, and look out and capture opportunities. Eventually you will look back and find that every moment, opportunity and class that you have taken/experienced will be of great value to you.
